Now that I'm sufficiently recovered from Friday night...

It started at the Eldo hotel's happy hour. Cheap drinks and free food! It was a seafoody day, and I really enjoyed the food. They even had a thing I'm totally stealing which is a shot glass with a raw oyster in the bottom topped up with Guinness. The flavours go really well.

I'm careful about going on about seafood these days though. I was proclaiming my love of fish at work one day and the fellas all found it hilarious. Bah!

Sporties was all fired up and ready to go. Didn't even get a nibble on the raffles this week =(. After that it was Karaoke - and I was all over 'Faith' - god I love that song. Sue and Biker Chick and the horde (six kids - SIX!) were there.

Sue sang the song he was named for, and with style. Biker chick also got up and sang - "I wish I was a Punk-Rocker" - I love that song too. I don't care - I know it's not cool. I have no rock OR punk cred now. =(

I hope you appreciate the picture - getting to the front of the room to take this (with my phone) is how the knee got busted. It seems sliding on your knees across a slippery floor isn't as suave as my drunken self though =(. Or maybe it was suave - but just not a good idea. My knee is still hurties =(.

Ebay the evil!

I have just banned myself from ebay. Again. I think this is about the twentieth time I've done that. Doh! Obviously not working.

On the plus side I have a fantastic new table runner for my fantastic new (second hand) table. The fact that I spent more on the runner than on the table is immaterial. It matches my shabby-chic decor. It'll look great with the new cushions from the same seller. I'll take a photo to show you when they arrive =).

I was also looking at getting a couple more games for the dance mat - which I did. And then I got a singstar game (mistakenly thinking it came with the mics), so then I did have to get a game with the mics, and then I had to get singstar 80s. Yes, had to. My next purchase will be the Party version - because it has the song Faith by George Michael - and that song rocks =).

Luckily ebay doesn't have the game at the moment, and I really need to take a little time and let my bank balance replenish itself *sigh* When the games arrive I'll be having a PS2 party though. Gonna go off!

Drink Blogging - It's Dangerous!

Today is Drink Blogging day! Woohoo!

Sounds like a fun idea. Thanks for the suggestion Vic. I'm not drunk yet, but give me time =). I'm a little hungover (or tired, not sure which) from last night. It was worth it though. Early in the night were chats and a few games of pool (where I barely saved my pants* - yes we all were relieved when I finally sunk a few balls).

After that Weasel Woman and I headed to the Sports Club for dinner (10 dollars for Barra - and it was gooooooood). I enjoyed myself, and even had a chance at the Joker draw. =( Sadly I did not pick the Joker, and so the 1800 plus dollars is not mine *cries*. Next time I hope, next time.

After that Karaoke came out. That was fun, I even got applause =S. We really are don't have enough singers. Though a group of tourists managed to liven up the show somewhat, which was fun. Jimmy, the karaoke king and kitchen hand extraordinare rocked, as usual. Very romantic, slow music, a few couples got up and danced. It was sweet =).

Karaoke got a little boring so I hitched a ride with some people to the Pub. I danced, but that ended up offending a three year old (as well my dancing might) who repeatedly pulled me off the dance floor and made me sit down. I'm sure he had my best interests at heart. =)

After that I sat outside and met a great bunch of guys. An Exploration crew, who I made talk about their jobs on a Friday night. Yes, I am evil! I mingled and chatted, and had a great night. I hope you all did too, and I plan to have another tonight and tell you all about it while still drunk. It won't be my first drunken blog - see if you can guess the other/s. =)


* For the none Aussie Rules Pool players out there if you are 'seven-balled' - don't sink a single ball during your game of pool you must drop your daks and run around the pool table. In some places women may flash their tits instead. I'd like to make the point now that neither of these were options even if I did lose. No need to scare the patrons like that =D.
